The last weekend was a little hectic for me.
From blogging to personal events, I can happily say I am excited to have a more relaxing weekend ahead of me.
Last Saturday, I went to Summerfest DC with a few of my friends.

Summerfest DC is a beer festival held yearly at The Fairgrounds next to Nationals Stadium in the Navy Yard. They have over 100 beer selections, cider and wine that you get to choose from within you 3 hour session.
I’ve been before (seen here) a few years ago and was excited when I was able to attend again.
My friends and I always opt for the VIP tickets because it really makes the whole experience worth it.
Perks of VIP:
30 minute early entrance
Separate VIP section so you don't feel as crowded
Separate bathrooms (i.e. shorter lines!)
Separate VIP tasting section (i.e. shorter lines!)
A cool Summerfest glass (which means larger tasting pours)
AND a lanyard that holds your glass (perfect for a summer beach trip. Look Ma – no hands!)

The weather (sorry I keep mentioning the weather!) was overcast initially but the clouds broke halfway through our session and goodness gracious was it hot.

I luckily opted for this knit midi dress that I have had for a while but rarely wear.  I always get a little nervous wearing it since the length of the dress can sometimes be a little overwhelming for my 5’4” frame and no heels.  It ended up being the perfect choice between the scorching sun, there was a breeze and with the heavier knit fabric and length, I never had to worry about a dress mishap.

Though I am complaining about the weather here, we did end up finding a picnic table off in the shade next to the band.
We enjoyed the rest of our time listening to live music while being a little more comfortable
in the shade away from the sun.

Do you all attend beer festivals in your town?
Do you recommend any in the DC/Baltimore area?
