eyelet & gingham.

First things first, how good is the Victoria BeckhamX Target collection?!
If you follow me on Instagram (@avizastyle) then you've seen my posts from the last couple of days showing a few pieces that I recently snagged - three (3) to be exact (herehere, and the pants above).

I woke up early on Sunday and stumbled to my closest Target after seeing an ad fly though my email about the launch of the new collection.
I had been eyeing gingham pants for a few weeks envisioning this outfit.
Eyelet and gingham are two of Spring's biggest trends and I knew they would work well together.
They are basically the perfect outfit combination for a spring/warmer weather .
With eyelet, you can wear an undershirt so it makes it work appropriate and not see through (like above) or you can pair it with a nude bra/bralet to show a little bit more skin.
I haven't worn gingham since this dress a few years back, but my newfound love for these pants has promoted me to incorporate more gingham items into my wardrobe.
The pattern is classic and it works well as an addition to my work wear. As a side note, I always try to purchase pieces that are highly versatile and allow me to style and wear them a variety of occasions.
The classic pattern isn't too crazy and gives a trendy alternative to my normal black pants.

With the warmer weather *hopefully* here to stay, I need more options to transition my drab winter wardrobe into spring.
Work gets busier in the Spring for me, which leaves me with little time to shop or do much else.

Having fun pieces that go with most of my closet makes it much easier to get ready in the morning, especially when I hit snooze too many times.

Fashion for Paws 2017

This past weekend was hectic yet jam packed with a string of fun filled events.
On Friday, I celebrated my friend JJ’s birthday at a local sports bar in Arlington.
It was the perfect mix of a low key, high energy environment with good friends and conversations. The festivities went later than expected, but it was fun to let loose and unwind.

However, the big event of the weekend, Fashion for Paws, was on Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt near City Center in downtown DC.
Fashion For Paws is a great event supporting the Humane Rescue Alliance, which is an organization created from The Washington Humane Society and the Washington Animal Rescue League joining forces.  They match animals and families together to find forever homes.
They provide affordable veterinary care for the animals that they rescue and adopt out, and they also humanely participate in controlling the stray cat population in DC.
The event was wonderful and beyond my expectations.  From the heart felt speeches to the incredibly generous donations, you could tell everyone was there with a passion and purpose to help animals and make a difference.
The runway show was beyond adorable with a myriad of furry, fun loving pups decked out in trendy outfits.
The event was hosted by the insatiable Carson Kressley who didn't disappoint and witnessed appearances from Miss Maryland, Ryan Kerrigan, and a number of other fashion forward celebs. Some of the more memorable highlights of the evening were Carson's witty jokes and funny moments when some of the "furry models" decided they wanted to do anything but walk down a runway.
The icing on the cake of this whole event was being styled by the Undeniable Boutique in The Mosiac District.  The owner, Alicia, was a model in the show and generously outfitted another blogger, Sarah, and me for the evening.
When trying on pieces in the boutique, I kept coming back to this amazing jumpsuit.
Surprisingly, I have never worn a jumpsuit before; consequently, I was slightly nervous and self conscious in case I was too short to pull it off. In the end, trying a piece outside of my comfort zone turned out to be the best decision as to was the perfect fit for my frame and physique.

All-in-all, it was an amazing evening supporting an amazing cause.

A big thank you to Alicia from Undeniable Boutique for making me feel amazing and Fashion for Paws for hosting such a great event.

4 Must Have Beauty Products for Your Carry-On

With my trip to Thailand exactly two weeks away, I am busy planning and packing to make sure that I'm adequately ready to embark on this new adventure.

Ever since I've stepped up my skin game, I chatted a little bit about that here, I'm really focused on maintaining healthy skin over the course of my long, grueling 14 hour flights.

Without carrying too much in my purse/carry-on, I came up with four (4) products that will help ensure my skin stays healthy, hydrated, and happy.

white eyelet.

This past weekend I ventured to Frederick, Maryland to visit a coworker.
I've been to Frederick a handful of times but have never really have gotten to enjoy the little town during the day.
My coworker happens to live downtown which makes it easy to just head out the door and explore.
After chatting over some cheese and wine we headed downtown.

It was quite chilly since Spring is still a little reluctant to show-up.
I threw on my ultra high-waisted Levi jeans.
Some coworkers made a funny joke last when I wore these out to a Happy Hour, that I look like Peggy Hill.
