When my sister and I rendezvoused at our parents house for Thanksgiving, I made sure she brought a few of my favorite pieces from her closet. I am not the biggest fan of a lot of things she has hanging in her closet, but the few things I do like, I am obsessed with.
Example: the boots & the shirt.
I love the jeweled standing collar on the top and the boots are so classic they go with absolutely everything.
Little does she know these items will be temporarily mine again at Christmas...

Though I've had this jacket for a few months now I am really starting to wear it out with these plunging temps.
When the temperatures really start plummeting I am thinking about just throwing on some long-johns/sweatpants/leggings underneath the skirt to keep warm.

I sported this outfit out the night before Thanksgiving and was the perfect kind of casual-cute to bar hop and run into old friends.
You've seen me sport my more boxy faux leather jacket (here, here, and here) since starting this blog, but I am finally snagged a more form fitting one.
I love the style of the jacket a little bit more than my older one and love the two colors represented in it.

The only drawbacks are the sizing of the jacket (I ordered my regular size and it is tiiight; apparently a common problem when ordering from this site so - BEWARE : size up!).
Though it is a bit on the tighter side I do like the fit.

This was the awesome dress I rented from Rent The Runway for my joint birthday party a few weeks ago. It was comfortable, fun, and showed just enough leg. I paired it with a pair of funky heels that I had scored from the Zara summer sale a few months back (they were surprisingly comfy!) Instead of grabbing a bold statement necklace, I opted for a statement earring that added a hidden punch to the dress whenever I pulled my hair back.

Amazing dresses, tons of friends , too much dancing, fruity drinks, can it not be a birthday celebration every weekend?!

For a #flashbackfriday we are heading back to my 4th birthday, 22 years ago. Today.

Yup, today is my 26th birthday and I can not believe how time flies.

Tonight, I am celebrating in DC with a birthday bash at a lounge where I will be sharing the spotlight with my lovely boyfriend (his birthday is Monday!) and a friend who is a few days after that (lots of scorpio babes).

I am super excited to celebrate finally getting kicked off my parents insurance plan with old and new friends while dancing the night away. Thanks 25 for being really awesome. I am almost certain you were the most fun, amazing, and most of all HAPPY year I've had so far on this planet. I am saying good-bye to my first quarter of a century with smiles and happy tears and looking at 26 with excitement and wonder on how things could get better.

I can't believe that I was actually able to wear this outfit last week, because the cold weather has hit and hit hard here in VA(high of 42 yesterday = brrrr).
I also can not tell you how long it took me to finally find and pull the trigger on a lady bowtie. When I found this one from ASOS I knew I had to scoop it up. It's a little quirky but I think it will be a versatile piece to throw some intrigue into any boring ol' outfit.
So let's see how many ways I can incorporate this baby into my everyday wear.

So one of the super exciting things that made my October really hectic, was that I got a new job. I've been there for over 5 weeks now and I am really enjoying every moment of it.
My new job requires business/business casual dress 4 days of the week, which has really made me step-up my office attire game. Typically I would just run to the nearest H&M grab my normal size in a pencil skirt or 2 and be set, but since I am currently between sizes, I had to look elsewhere.
I went on a hunt to find a cute work appropriate skirt that would fit me now but also when I get back in shape.
Length is also a big factor for my 5'4" frame.

Welcome Loft petite section. This skirt is so cute and fun while still maintaining that professionalism needed in the work place. I am about to buy one in every color.

The older I have gotten the more I have been drawn to "uglier sweaters". Maybe it's the change in temperature that makes my mind a little crazy for these these obscure patterns or maybe I just like ugly things (I like to think it's option 1!)
All I have to say is, the uglier the sweater the happier I will be.

November has always been my favorite month. Mostly because it is my birth month, but also it is when the weather really starts to change. The air is crisper and you don't look silly wearing booties with absolutely everything.
October was a crazy month of changes and new things, but November is really when all of those changes are really starting to feel real. Time is flying by! The weather gets crisper and the leaves start changing.

November = New-vember.

Everything has finally settled down on my end and I will be back to regular updates.

I am sure you are pretty tired of hearing about the philip lim x target collection so I will refrain from any comments about my excitement over scoring this bag in stores the day after the debut.

This outfit was not intentional, but I have a feeling I will be wearing this repeatedly this fall. I love the un-tucked oxford with the cropped faux leather jacket. It's a great casual yet put together look for anything from a chilly morning brunch to running errands around town. The key to the comfort is adding a comfortable heel or wedge, and this interesting pair I scooped at DSW last year does the trick for me.

If you follow me on Instagram you know I was in New York for a wedding this past weekend. It was amazingggggg. Everything was so elegantly decorated and the food was delicious.

Faviana asked me a few weeks ago if I would be interested in wearing one of their dresses and knew that this wedding was the PERFECT place to wear it to. The dress was beyond perfect for the occasion. The color was such a perfect shade of green and the sweetheart cut was flattering. Oh, and did I mention dancing with the loose fabric twirling around me was my favorite part? Ok, well it was. Faviana knows how to make a dress.

All in all, I had a perfect date and the perfect dress, what more could a girl ask for?
