What to see when Visiting Shepherdstown, WV | A. Viza Style
Last weekend I took a day trip with my mom to Shepherdstown, WV.
I am from a small town right outside of Northern Virginia close to the West Virginia border but had never wandered the 25 or so miles to Shepherdstown before.
I love discovering new places that are quirky and unique and that is totally what I found in .

Shepherdstown is full of so much rich history, the town predates the Revolutionary war, great architecture, and the cutest shops and restaurants.

I had such a great time just roaming in and out of stores and just taking in everything and meeting of the friendly local business owners .

We planned on eating lunch at The Blue Moon Cafe but had a few hours until they opened so that gave my mom and I ample time to explore the charming town.

We  started with a little “pre-brunch” at a local bakery where we grabbed a traditional German pastry and some coffees.
The coffee was so-so but the pastry was really tasty and the perfect amount for my mom and I to split and hold us over until we were ready for lunch.

After we finished our pastry, we hit the shops.
The collection of cute shops is amazing and all had the perfect signage to boot.

We visited an a knick-knack store that had a little bit of everything.
My mom almost snagged some mason jar champagne flutes but I told her she probably didn’t need them.
I almost walked out with a few local prints of the area.

The Four Seasons book store was two levels - level one held new release books and the second floor held all used books.  They had some great art books (my favorite to collect) that I had to talk myself out of a few purchases.

My favorite shop was On The Wings of Dream.
This was the coolest store with tons of jewelry, crystals, and various other gifts.
I ended up walking away with a beautiful sterling silver green stoned ring.
I can never have enough rings.

The Blue Moon Café was so cute. You are able to sit outdoors in a great green outdoor setting.
I ordered the quiche of the day (feta & spinach - it was uh-mazing) and my mom ordered one of their many salads to choose form.
Besides the awesome food and scenery, the Blue Moon Café also lists where their products actively are sourced from.
All in all it was a great little morning I got to spend with my mom.
I can't wait to make it back to explore a little more.
