I am going to start by saying :
Goat.cheese.grilled.cheese.
I was in Virginia Beach a few weeks ago and decided to get brunch with a sorority sister of mine.
I didn’t know of any places to suggest but luckily she suggest Commune.
Once I looked at the menu I was very very excited.
Commune is all about local homemade food that is farm fresh.
If you look at their website you can see exactly where they source all their products.
I love a company that is transparent especially in the food industry.
Delicious doesn’t really describe the food accurately; it is just so much more than that.
We decided to order two entrees and split them because neither of us could actually just pick one thing that we wanted.
Everything on the menu just looked so good.
I had originally decided on a different dish (a traditional ham and cheese crepe) but then I saw the Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese : game over.
Fact about me: if I ever spot anything with goat cheese on any menu, I normally get that dish. I just love goat cheese!
So finally decided to split the Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese and the Crouqe Madame Stuffed Belgian Waffle.
I am completely obsessed with this sandwich.
The mix of the cheese and the prosciutto was a great mix of salty and sweet.
The Crouqe Madame Stuffed Belgian Waffle was filled with fresh ham topped with hollandaise sauce and an egg over easy.
This was honestly one of my favorite meals I’ve had in awhile.
I don’t know when I will be able to make it back so now I am just on the hunt for some great substitutes in DC.
