I normally focus on just my outfits but as the new year approaches I am going to start sharing more.
My first dive into this is telling you the story behind me getting this pretty girl.
Before I even moved into my apartment by myself I had always planned on bringing my older family dog (seen here) with me. With her being overweight, sensitive to noises (she barks at everything!), and pretty sad being alone all the time, my family and I felt that it wouldn't be the best move for her to come and live with me.
So then I was on the hunt to find my dog.
Living next to the Fairfax Animal Shelter I became quite obsessive with visiting the dogs to try and find the one.
I saw so many great animals but was never able to pull the trigger.
I knew I wanted an older dog who was house trained and not too energetic.
Then I found Dot.
I saw her picture on the Animal Welfare League of Arlington website and I had to go see her for myself. I really fell in love at first site. I just knew that she was supposed to come home with me and 2 days later I went to go pick her up.
She's been home with me now for 2 weeks and I couldn't be happier. She is starting to get comfortable in our little routine and has made herself at home.
I am still getting adjusted to some of her habits but I am so happy to have added this little cuddle bug to my life.
I would highly recommend the AWLA! The staff is friendly, adoption fee is reasonable, you can tell they care so much about the animals and the adoption process allows you a day to really make sure your making the right decision.
What a precious little nug!! Can't wait to see more of her!
