dress//pencey (rent it!) shoes//sam edelman ring//jewelmint

this was the second dress i rented from rent the runway for the weekend filled with holiday parties.
this is a super fun pencey shift that really is eye catching and made me feel amazing.
i didn't want to take it off! but sleeping in sequins really isn't that comfortable...
but since the dress was so vibrant by itself, i decided to keep all the accessories pretty minimal but kept my normal silver pieces i wear daily to give it some contrast.

blue sparkle.

dress//tibi (rent it!) shoes//aldo (old)

December means holiday parties which means sparkles and all of the translates into me spending too much time trying to find the most sparkly dress possible.  For my boyfriends work holiday party I opted for this beautiful Tibi shift dress that I rented from Rent The Runway.  After some emergency safety pin work, we got the dress to fit wonderfully.  We played some games in the game room, ate tons of food and danced the night away.  Not bad for the first holiday party of the year.

animal sweaters

from left to right

I love sweaters, and this fall I have discovered a new love of sweaters with animals on them.  I keep joking that I could break out my clothes from elementary school and I would have a closet full of these.  The awesome sophisticated twist to a typically childish detail is really what I love about this trend.  I am on the hunt for a great vintage animal sweater but here are but these are a few of my favorite ones I've found online.  Do you love the animal sweater trend?

The fact the stripes are everywhere have made me a happy camper.  Tuesday's are usually pretty grim and the stripe on stripes plus a little leopard have made me smile a bit more.  I love the contrasting directions of the stripes and the pop of leopard to make it a little more fun.  Happy Tuesday :)

Though I stated a bit ago that I love fall and sweater weather, I forgot that the changing seasons means chilly temps.  I was/still am not totally prepared for that.  BUT luckily I got to escape the dipping east coast temperatures for a quick getaway to Orange County, California for a wedding with my boyfriend the last weekend of September.   I have always considered myself an east coast-er forever and always, but I am have been swayed after my trip.  The incredible weather, the friendly people, and the delicious cheeses, California has officially won me over.

After waiting all summer to wear this dress the weather, venue, wedding, bride and groom, and my handsome date couldn't have been more perfect.  The wedding was beautiful, the food was delicious, and I literally had bruises on my feet from dancing so much.  So California, until we meet again :)

September has been crazy, as can be seen from a lack of posts. But after I jet off to California this weekend with my boyfriend for a wedding, the craziness will die down and I can get back to regularly posting.

Everyone sells t-shirts, but not everyone sells the same one.  After years of buying and re-buying cheap tee's, I have learned the value of spending a little more on t-shirts that will last.  James Perse sells some awesome cotton shirts that last forever and are comfortable and chic.  I've had this boxy tee for a few years and it is one of my favorites.  Throwing it on over printed denim and low heeled booties makes for a super relaxed fall look that is effortless.

I have just had an epiphany and realized that Fall is my favorite season.  Not only is my birthday located in this wonderful season, but wearing big sweaters and boots and tons of layers may be some of my favorite things in the world.  Here in Virginia the humidity has been hiding some so I have been breaking out my sweaters and blazers just because I can't wait anymore!  Outfits like this I know will pollute my fall style while mixing in some more prints, boots, and layers.  But until Fall is finally here I will enjoy the rest of summer :)

snips of nyc.

So, last week I got to head to the Big Apple for The Accessories Show in NYC.  It was awesome.  It was a great experience but also super tiring.  Working the show all day and then trying to take in the city at night and meeting up with friends at night was exhausting!  Learning the workings of what goes into these wholesale shows was really great and really helped bring everything I've been doing all summer with my internship together.  Today is actually my last day and I can't believe it is already the end!

Time has flown by this summer and am sad that for the past 2 weeks I have been a little behind on here.  But with my internship being over, mostly the terrible commute, I will have tons more free time so updates frequently will be coming.  Hope you all have been well and I will be catching up on all blogs/getting back to people starting today!
